Joy Behar of "The View" found herself in hot water after making a crude joke about Carl Nassib's coming out on Tuesday.

Nassib came out as gay on Monday in a heartfelt IG video.

"Behar and her colleagues were discussing Carl Nassib's announcement on their ABC show when she kicked off the segment saying: 'I know he's the first active NFL player ever to come as gay but come on it's 2021, is this such a big deal?'," reported the Daily Mail.

"Then, after being told by her co-hosts that it was a big deal, she joked: 'You know after they said penetration in the end zone they lost me.'"

"Behar's comment was met with awkward laughter from her co-hosts, with (Anna) Navarro even plugging her ears," reports Decider.com. "The exception was "I just long for the days when you can just be gay in the world and it doesn't become a big deal," she said. She added with a wave of her hand, "By the way, that inappropriate joke I made for daytime television, scratch it. Make believe I never said it."
