Later that night the Ramrod's featured their monthly Pig Dance (#83), which this month starred DJ Scott Mann. I then headed over to the Manor (I got there before 12 to beat the cover) so I could see RuPaul Drag Race's Alaska, who performed to a paced crowd. On Sunday, I headed over to Flip Flops Dockside Eatery for their monthly T-dance on the Intracoastal. This is Jazz
Starting this Wednesday, July 15, at 10pm TLC premieres the new reality series starring activist and transgender teen Jazz Jennings, titled "I Am Jazz.
The 11-episode series will focus on the 14-year-old YouTube star's life as a teenager dealing with school, sports and her family. Throughout the season, viewers will follow Jazz as she prepares to start her new school in the fall and face decisions regarding her health, and entering the dating world.
While Jazz was designated male on her birth certificate, as a young child she knew that she was a girl. With her incredibly supportive and loving family, Jazz began her transition at the age of 5. Jazz's parents, Greg and Jeanette, will also be featured in the show, along with her siblings, sister Ari, and twin brothers Griffen and Sander.
In 2014, Time Magazine named her one of "The 25 Most Influential Teens" as Jazz has been an advocate for the transgender community for many years sharing her story with people across the country in an effort to educate and inspire others. She is also the co-author of the book, "I Am Jazz," and earlier this year, she was also part of the Clean & Clear "See the Real Me" digital campaign. Jazz and her parents also founded the Transkids Purple Rainbow Foundation, a nonprofit devoted to supporting transgender youth and their families.
