Son of Nigerian Anti-LGBTQ Pol Declares He's 'Gay AF' in Sexy Insta Post

The son of a high-profile, and intensely anti-LGTBQ, politician came out on Instagram, dressed in rainbow shorts, holding a Pride flag, and declaring himself to be "gay AF," LGBTQ Nation reports.
Bolu Okupe, 27, been out for at least a year already, LGBTQ Nation noted, and has posted LGBTQ content at YouTube, discussing homophobia, bi and trans issues, and recently announcing that he had set up an OnlyFans.
But the Instagram post - which shows off his chiseled physique - constituted a new level of disclosure.
Same-sex relationships are outlawed in Nigeria, with some places in the Muslim-majority nation imposing the death penalty for partnered gay man (women face public flogging rather than the death penalty). Even public displays of affection between two people of the same gender carry significant penalties of up to ten years in prison.
The Instagram post prompted pushback at the social media platform and prompted Bolu's father, Dr. Doyin Okupe, to post a response at his own Instagram page.
Calling his son's authentic nature a "new orientation," Dr. Okupe, an evangelical Christian, posted: "He knows that as a Christian and a witness for Christ (an evangelist) I am vehemently opposed to homosexuality as it runs contrary to the avowed precepts of my Christian faith."
Dr. Okupe did not call for his son to be so punished. Rather, he framed Bolu's coming out as part of a spiritual "saga" that he called a "challenge" but said he expected to "end up in Praise to the Almighty Jehova who I serve day and night."
Bolu - who was educated in England and France and lived in Paris - fought his own battles on Instagram. To haters who told him he would be killed or suggested he was "against" God, Bolu wrote, "I hope one day you will educate yourself. If not, I don't care; you will die ignorant and on the wrong side of history."
Another person commented on Bolu's post with, "Your dad said one day you are going to turn a new leaf and you are going to boldly declare your love for CHRIST JESUS the same way you announced your sexuality. We are waiting...."
Bolu shot back: "yes, we all are waiting."
