Hot Gay Priests Photoshoot Serves Liberating Love

Andrea Marks Joseph READ TIME: 1 MIN.

"As a former church kid, I was taught that love should follow certain rules," wrote photographer Erick Monterrosa, who shared this show-stopping photo series as his "simple" Valentine's Day wish: "that everyone has the freedom to choose who they want to spend it with–regardless of sex, gender, or beliefs." The visionary photographer, who often works with the hottest men in unique situations, continued: "I remember the first time I kissed a boy; it was liberating. Love should be chosen, not dictated."

Every one of these provocative images, each styled and angled slightly differently, is breathtakingly sexy. The models, Alexander and Martin, are styled in vestments which, instead of concealing the priests' bodies as is typical for liturgical garments, were tailored specifically to expose their skin and the places on each other's bodies where the men connect. Sizzling hot does not even begin to describe what's going on here.

The photoshoot, Monterrosa explains, is inspired by the 1991 Autumn/Winter "Priest and Nun" campaign photographed by prolific artist and marketing visionary Oliviero Toscani. That photo, which showed a priest and a nun kissing in their clerical vestments, triggered outrage from the Roman Catholic Church and was honored as #2 on Vogue's list of Toscani's best Benetton campaigns.
